BDASL is a 501(c)3 non-profit focused on sharing the joy of ballroom dancing. Our mission is to promote partner or ballroom style dancing, an important component of American culture and education. We hold steadfast to the promotion of BDASL’s unique inter-generational ballroom dance programs here in St Louis:

Additionally, BDASL sponsors an annual week-long Dance Camp for adults, and holds and Monthly Dance Events for social dancing. To continue our outreach efforts, we rely on the generous support of you all. Please consider making either a one-time donation or monthly recurring donations (for recurring donations, please contact us via email at ballroomdancestl@gmail.com). Both types of giving are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.

Tuesdays - With Andrea

all Tuesday dance classes require a minimum of 6 registered dancers

Session A: June 4 and 11

6pm: Ballroom Line Dancing
Join us for a dynamic and enjoyable exploration of ballroom line dancing! Through clear instruction and guided practice, you’ll learn a variety of choreographed line dances spanning different styles of ballroom dancing. Whether you're a seasoned dancer or taking your very first steps onto the dance floor, this class is designed to cater to dancers of all levels.

7pm: Beginner Foxtrot and East Coast Swing
Discover the elegance and grace of the Foxtrot and get ready to swing into action with the energetic and playful East Coast Swing. Foxtrot and East Coast Swing can be danced to many different musical genres that are often played at wedding receptions and other social events. Whether you’re dancing for recreation, fitness, or socializing, this class promises to ignite your passion for dance and set you on the path to becoming a confident and stylish dancer.

Session B: June 18 and 25

6pm: Ballroom Line Dancing

7pm: Introduction to Nightclub Two Step and Hustle
Dive into the dynamic world of nightclub dancing with our two-session beginner class focusing on Nightclub Two Step and Hustle! Perfect for beginners looking to add flair to their dance repertoire, this class will introduce you to the rhythmic elegance of Nightclub Two Step and the vibrant energy of the Hustle. In just two sessions, you'll learn the basic steps, patterns, and essential techniques to confidently navigate the dance floor. Whether you're stepping out with a partner or flying solo, join us for an exciting journey into the world of nightclub dancing and get ready to dance the night away!

Session C: July 23 and 30

6pm: Salsa Shines and Styling: Solo Dance Technique
Join us for an exciting two-session group class designed to elevate your salsa dancing skills with a focus on shines and styling! Perfect for beginners eager to add flair and confidence to their salsa repertoire, this class will delve into the art of solo dance technique. In each session, you'll learn a variety of dynamic footwork patterns, body movement isolations, and stylish embellishments to enhance your dancing. Whether you're dancing for fun, fitness, or self-improvement, this class promises to ignite your passion for salsa and unlock your full dance potential. Don't miss out on this opportunity to shine solo and make a statement on the dance floor!

7pm: Salsa for Beginners
Embark on a thrilling journey into the vibrant world of salsa dancing with our two-session group class designed specifically for beginners! Whether you're completely new to salsa or looking to refine your basics, this class is the perfect starting point. Over the course of two sessions, you'll learn the essential steps, basic footwork, and fundamental partnering techniques that form the foundation of salsa dancing. From mastering the salsa rhythm to executing simple turns and transitions, you'll gain the skills and confidence to step out with style and grace. Join us and discover the joy of salsa dancing in a fun and supportive group setting!

Thursdays (by the month for June and July; no classes 7/4)

6pm: Ballet Exercise Techniques for ballroom and tango dancers (with Tavi)
(no experience required)

7pm: Argentine Tango 101 (with Tal)
(no experience required)

8pm: Argentine Tango 102
(with Tal)
(requires prior experience with Argentine Tango)

If this is the first time dancing with us, please fill out the one-time electronic Waiver Form (link) before the first class.

Classes are held in the Grand Hall on the 2nd floor of the Grandel Theater, 3610 Grandel Square, St. Louis, MO, 63103. Please note that the Grandel is generally locked these days. Please arrive 5-10 minutes before the scheduled class time (you might not be able to enter the building after the class has started as we are dancing on the 2nd floor and will likely not hear you knocking).
